Histopathological, Histochemical and Histomorphometrical Investigation of the Effects of Different Piezosurgery Tools on Tissues: Experimental Study

Objective: Piezoelectric surgical instruments are widely used in medicine and dentistry. Devices with new features produced day by offered to surgeons. The aim of this study is evaluate the effects old generation piezosurgery conventional rotary hand tools on bone after osteotomy histopathologically, histochemically histomorphometrically. Material Methods: In parietal bones 12 rabbits, defects a diameter 8 mm were created two different tool. Animals sacrificed 7th 21st days evaluated histomorphometrically amounts formation, sequestration, connective tissue, fibrin cartilage percentages full-empty area total area. Results: histopathological examinations, least sequestra formation was observed group. histomorphometric analysis, it determined that there statistically significant difference between mean measurements all groups (p0.05). Conclusion: As result evaluation, filling (both tissue) defect areas group higher short term follow up compared other groups, but no midterm up.
